Why We Created Lake Republic

Lake Republic began with a simple idea: to create a place where people could slow down, reconnect with nature and experience Lake Skadar through the people who live here.

Dodoši is not a manufactured tourism destination. It is a living village with its own history, architecture, waterways and traditions.

Our goal is not to change its character, but to share it responsibly.

Meet the Founder

Özgür Çağrı Fırat

Lake Republic Dodoši was founded by Özgür Çağrı Fırat, a professional tourist guide, tourism consultant and project developer with extensive experience across Türkiye, Montenegro and the Balkans.

After years of working in tourism, hospitality and destination development, Özgür wanted to create a place built around authenticity rather than mass tourism.

Lake Republic brings together his experience in guiding, hospitality, local partnerships and nature-based tourism.

Food by the Lake

Chef Pamuk Acar

Chef Pamuk Acar brings the culinary identity of Lake Republic to life.

The kitchen focuses on simple, satisfying food prepared for outdoor living: local ingredients, grilled dishes, seasonal flavours and vegetarian and vegan choices.

The idea is not formal dining.

It is good food, shared beside the lake.

The Karuč Connection

Miško and Aleksandra Šofranac

Lake Republic is closely connected to Miško and Aleksandra Šofranac and their family-led hospitality in Karuč.

Our relationship is built on years of friendship, cooperation and trust.

Through boat experiences, Karuč Krš Restaurant, local accommodation and deep knowledge of the lake, Miško and Aleksandra are an important part of the Lake Republic story.

This is more than a commercial partnership.

It is a relationship between people, villages and shared respect for the lake.
